Jennie qualified in 2004 from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh with a BSc in podiatry and decided to stay on an extra year to complete her honours year. While studying part-time Jennie gained a part-time job working in an NHS community clinic. She has been registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) been a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (SOCAP) since qualifying.
It was during her experience working with the NHS that her passion started to grow for biomechanics and sports injuries. She moved to Manchester and began working within the NHS trust as a band 6 specialising in biomechanics and nail surgery. Jennie then decided to go onto further education and completed a three year Masters in sports injuries and biomechanics whilst continuing to work full time.
Jennie continued to build on her knowledge and experience and went on to a managerial role in a private setting which included setting up a biomechanics and nail surgery clinics with a mobile unit. She then went on to work for the Ministry of Defence working with the RAF and Army preparing patients for touring by designing specialised boots and custom made orthotics and provided rehabilitation programmes for patients returning from tour.
After 12 years practicing, Jennie still very much loves working in podiatry and has a passion for biomechanics and sports injuries.
