What Is Heel Pain?

Heel pain or plantar fasciitis is the inflammation of the fibrous tissue (plantar fascia) along the bottom of the foot that connects the heel bone to your toes.

What You Might Experience?

  • Mild to severe pain in the heel area which is worse in the morning and after long periods of rest
  • Could develop an abnormal walking style as you try to avoid placing weight on the affected heel which can result in pain elsewhere in the body.

How Can It Be Treated?

It is often caused due to abnormal walking patterns so insoles/orthotics may be needed to cushion or correct the foot function.  Exercises and different therapies may be needed this will be discussed by the podiatrist at the assessment.
